The Birds of New Zealand app is a comprehensive and interactive guide to over 360 bird species found in the region. This app is based on the newly released Birds of New Zealand: A Photographic Guide by Paul Scofield and Brent Stephenson. It offers a range of features that enhance the birding experience, including more than 1000 images with distribution maps, detailed and informative text covering identification, behavior, bird calls, distribution, and conservation status of the birds.

Moreover, it includes audio of multiple bird calls for most species, a "Smart Search" function that allows you to identify birds based on their type, size, color, physical features, and habitat. You can also select a region of New Zealand to display only the birds in that area, use "Bird Compare" to compare two birds on the same screen, and store your bird sightings in a personal bird list that can be exported via email or saved to your device.

Note that this app requires an additional download of 315MB. Uninstalling the program will result in the loss of your list, so it is recommended that you keep a regular backup of your list using the Export function in the My List page.
